The Birth Unit Practice includes the services of our expert team of passionate midwives and complementary therapists many with many years experience of provision of consistently high standard supportive care and education in preganancy.
1. Complementary therapies- provision includes:
- Acupuncture
- Reflexology
- aromatherapy
2. Birth preparation classes:
- Breast feeding support classes
- Birth preparation weekend classes
- Hypnobirthing classes
- Yoga classes
3. Other longstanding established services available to the practice are:
- Women’s health physiotherapy both antetnal l and postnatal service
- Osteopathy both antetnatal and postantal and cranial osteopaythy for babies
4. Antenatal and postnatal psychological support with Anne Herreboudt who is able to offer one to one psychological support and care for hose difficult moments in pregnancy.
The Birth Unit Practice still located at Hosptial of St John and St Elizabeth will be able to continue easy access to all the antenatal services namely
- Prenatal screening in pregnancy e.g. Downs screening
- Early pregnancy scanning including the 12 week nuchal scan
- Detailed anomaly scanning for fetal abnormalities by fetal medicine specialists
- Growth and fetal well-being scans (including scanning packages)
- Full Pathology services
- Postpartum pelvic floor clinics
- Physiotherapy support
The Deliveries will be undertaken at the Portland Hospital which has full access to 24 hour routine and emergency obstetric, paediatric and anaesthetic care.
